Co-financing project “Implementation of the European Partnership on Radioactive Waste Management – 2 (EURAD-2)”

 
Some of the problems identified and tackled by the measure No 12-001-01-02-01 of Lithuania’s Science Development Programme of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic are: poor availability and sustainability of competitive funding, lack of competences and specialists for knowledge and technology transfer, undeveloped national MSI cross-support system for students, researchers’ offspring companies, untapped potential of participation in international R&D programmes. The activities of the measure aim at increasing the dissemination of knowledge, ideas and experience and at improving the conditions for the development of competences at all stages of a researcher’s career.
This co-funding project will carry out research at international level on the management and safety of radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel in the framework of the EURAD-2 project, partly funded by the European Commission. The project will provide funding for research gaps and will ensure the exchange of knowledge, enhance the competence of professionals and contribute to addressing radioactive waste management issues of importance to Lithuania and the world. In this way, the project will contribute to addressing the problems mentioned in the progress measure.
