The objective of the project Testing an R&D idea – Application of numerical modelling of fluid flow for personalised treatment of brain diseases (No. 10-038-T-0167) is to prepare and application proposal for the Horizon Europe programme calls for proposals in the framework of an interdisciplinary project.
This project will carry out work needed to build necessary knowledge for the preparation of a multidisciplinary project application for the planned future calls for proposals in the Horizon Europe strategic plan 2025-2027 Cluster 1 Health – Tackling diseases and reducing disease burden and Developing and using new tools, technologies and digital solutions for a healthy society.
According to the European Horizon calls the applications for research will be used to refine our novel, original and currently state-of-the-art personalised numerical modelling of cerebrospinal fluid flow in the ventricles and subarachnoid space. This recently developed methodology has been successfully applied to the personalised prediction of cerebral vasospasm and late ischaemic events after spontaneous subarachnoid haemorrhage. The improved methodology will allow us to apply our technique to the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment strategy of a wide range of cerebral diseases.
The project is implemented under the Development Programme Manager of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Lithuania for the period 2021-2030, under the Development Programme Progress Measure No 12-001-01-02-01 “Strengthening innovation ecosystems in science centres” activity “Support for identified R&D start-up projects and feasibility studies with institutional roadmaps for successful participation in the calls of the European Union’s research and innovation programme “European Horizon””.
