On the 23-24th of October, 2018 representatives of Albanian National Nuclear Agency paid visit to Lithuanian Energy Institute. The Agency was established in 2010 to monitor the expansion of nuclear projects in Albania. The specialists of the Agency were interested in how nuclear energy infrastructure was developed in Lithuania, how the Lithuanian Energy Strategy is prepared as well as experience of our Institute in the field of nuclear energy. During the meeting the guests were introduced with the Institute and National Open Access Scientific Research Center for Future Energy Technologies. Specialists of the Institute presented historical context of Lithuanian nuclear energy as well as current Lithuanian energy situation, Institute’s experience in training nuclear energy specialists, explained how nuclear regulation is carried out in Lithuania. Guests were introduced with modelling of state energy sector used in preparing Lithuanian Energy Strategy as well as energy safety assessment.
Such visits, where capabilities of the Institute are presented, in the future will be beneficial while expanding international cooperation in different areas.
